My Dream Kitchen
Today I thought I should talk about the design aspect of my life.
I love to talk about what I want my dream house to look like. So today I'll keep it contained to how I want my dream kitchen to look.
To start, I've always wanted dark wood floors just because I love how they look, but I'm still deciding whether I would actually want my floor to be dark, but what I do know is I would want hardwood flooring throughout the entire home, including the kitchen.
The kitchen itself though I would love to have as either an 'L' shape, or 'U' shape. But I would want it open to the living area. And to really express who I am I would want coloured cabinets. I'm the kind of person who can be seen as "boring" so I almost always let my clothes and shoes give my life colour. So I would do the same in the home. I like to think I love the beach feel, but it needs to be a modern beachy feel.
To achieve that modern beachy feel I would have the bottom cabinets a blue (like in the picture), and make the upper cabinets a white so the kitchen doesn't look too crazy. I would love to have a white counter-top to keep everything looking clean. And as for the back splash I would love to put in a glass tile to bring both the blue and the white together in one. I've always had a love for glass tiles, they can be inspiring, and they never bore me.
In the past I have wanted to have the inside of the upper cabinets painted a colour, but over the years that has changed to just wanting to have glass upper cabinet doors (except by the stove because I would not want the doors constantly fogging up whenever I cook).
For the appliances, I would love to have the best of the best, but if that wasn't possible, I would get the best I could for the stove, and fridge. I'm not sure if I would want a gas or electric stove, but by the looks of it, I still have plenty of time to decide.
As for decor, I'm not quite sure at the moment, there's so much I could choose from, but I would want to keep the modern beach feeling.
Over the next couple days I will be going over the things I would love in my dream home. Hopefully it is enjoyed.
