Why I Went to School for Interior Decorating

I play sims. Need I say more?
I can watch HGTV channel for at least 6 hours straight. I should be qualified.

Although those are both valid for me, that's not the main reason I chose to go to school for interior decorating. It did start with sims, but I've always been an artsy person, and I took art for the 5 years (I took an extra year on top of the normal 4 years) I was in high school. In my grade 12 year my art teacher told me that she liked how I chose colours that go together.
When choosing my colours I would just grab a handful of pencil crayons, and my artsy brain would like colours that would compliment each other, from various colour values (light to dark) within the same family making monochromatic art pieces, to grabbing colours that do not look like they would go together, and adding other colours so that they would work together.
The following year, when I was in my victory lap/grade 13 I took a design class, and I quite enjoyed it. I learned the different rules, and it was a class solely based on drawing, and that's just what I wanted. And when I would finish my work early, I could sit at my table and draw floor plans for my sims game to build later, and I wouldn't get in trouble for it because it looked like I was still doing my work.
I did realize while taking that class how much I wanted to add colour to the rooms I had drawn up, and that's really when I started thinking about what I enjoy.
Taking that class also made me really apprieciate buildings, and architecture in general when I went to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto. It is a beautiful hindu temple to look at, and it was even more breathtaking to see in person. To give a little bit of knowledge about the BAPS Temple ... it is completely hand carved, and made of stone. It is a beautiful sight to see.
